ABOUT ME

I graduated from my B.Ed in Secondary Education at Acadia University in 2009, specializing in Math and Science. Since then, I have held a number of positions in those areas, and most recently I have been teaching in the AVRSB as a Career Access teacher.

The Career Access program is designed to transition students to the workforce after high school. Most of our students are on Individual Program Plans for their academic subjects, and they participate in a volunteer work placement two days a week. They are in our program for their Grade 10-12 years, and usually have 3-4 different work experiences in that time.

I enjoy teaching in a high school setting, and was recently part of the school trip to Europe on March Break. We were on a Holocaust in Europe tour, and visited Berlin in Germany, Warsaw & Krakow in Poland, and Prague in the Czech Republic. It was an amazing trip, and our students were incredible. The photo featured here was in the Old Town part of Warsaw, which was my favourite location that we visited.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, making cards and other crafts, spending time outside in warm weather, especially at the beach, and hanging out with our cats, Nickel and Cobalt (featured left). My boyfriend and I recently purchased our first home, and are enjoying painting and making it our own. My family and friends are a big part of my life, and I am lucky to be an Auntie to 5 nieces and 1 nephew. We are looking forward to a family reunion in England this coming July.
